2023 Q2 Newsletter
Between receiving numerous accolades, showing at the Northwest Remodeling Expo and the Seattle Home and Garden Show, welcoming new team members, and highlighting our upcoming projects, we had tons to share with you in our first quarter. This quarter, we’ve achieved even more!
Here are some of the highlights from our incredible second quarter:
Pathway Turned 15!
Cheers to 15 incredible years!
On April 5th, 2008, we started Pathway DC to transform spaces and make dreams come true. 15 years later, we’re going stronger than ever, and we celebrated our anniversary with a fantastic outdoor party (thankfully, the Seattle weather was also in a celebratory mood!) surrounded by our amazing team, talented trade partners, creative designers, and inspirational architects.
Here’s to another 15 years 🎉!
Tina Redford Retired
Our very own Tina embarked on a well-deserved retirement at the end of May, and her wonderful presence is greatly missed. If you’ve ever called our Pathway office, you likely spoke with Tina, our enthusiastic Project Administrator, who lives by Zig Ziglar’s sage advice: “You can have everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.”
Tina was an exceptional member of our family. She kept us organized and on schedule and was always eager to share pictures of her adorable grandchildren at the slightest provocation.
We miss you, Tina!
Pathway Became a 2023 Chrysalis Regional Award Recipient
The Chrysalis Awards honor the “finest remodeling projects in the country.” They’ve been a go-to resource for remodeling ideas and have identified design and construction companies producing award-winning work since 1993.
This year, Pathway DC won a Regional Award for our work on an addition worth over $250,000. Chrysalis’ judging panel consisted of writers and editors from publications, including:
- Better Homes & Gardens
- Woman’s Day’s Home Remodeling & Makeovers
- Southern Living Magazine
- Sunset Magazine
Pathway Was a REX Award 2nd Place Recipient
The Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties (MBAKS) hosted its 37th annual Remodeling/Trades Remodeling Excellence (REX/T-REX) Awards. Pathway DC took 2nd place in the “Residence Remodel Excellence — Major Remodel, $500,000 to $800,000 " category.
All entries submitted were judged for numerous things, including their universal design solutions, aesthetics, quality workmanship, budgetary considerations, and challenges and obstacles. We’re incredibly proud of the phenomenal work of our team.
Pathway Received New GuildQuality Actively Surveying Award
Pathway DC earned a GuildQuality Member Badge. Founded in 2003, GuildQuality exists because of the need for enhanced trust between homeowners and the residential construction industry. Their platform, comprising over 2,500 companies, values unbiased customer feedback as a reliable performance measurement tool. By receiving this badge and including it on Pathway DC, we commit ourselves to providing excellent customer service and taking your feedback to heart.
Pathway Has Contracts for 8 Current and Ongoing Projects
We signed four new contracts this quarter, while four other projects are well underway!
Here’s what we’re currently working on:
New Projects | Ongoing Projects |
Kitchen renovation in Normandy Park | Kitchen remodel |
Bathroom renovation in Greenlake | Primary suite addition |
Kitchen and laundry room in Magnolia | Bump out kitchen |
Kitchen and living room in Brier | Whole home remodel in Seattle |
Pathway Recognized Juneteenth
Some consider Juneteenth to be the USA’s second independence day. On June 19, 1865, a Union General rode to Galveston, Texas, to announce that the Civil War had ended and enslaved people had been freed. African Americans have celebrated Juneteenth since the late 1800s, and in 2021, President Biden signed legislation to make it a federal holiday. Pathway employees received a paid day off in honor of this historic day.
The New Book Club Has Launched
We started an in-person book club!
For our first selection, we chose Contract to Close by Jeff Shore.
Contract to Close follows the story of two homebuyers who bought their homes from two different builders at the same time. While one home builder delivered an excellent experience that resulted in more referrals, the other endured numerous complaints, complications, and discontent.
The book teaches you some amazing lessons relevant to people both in and out of the residential construction industry, including how to communicate effectively and the importance of planning and being agile.
You can purchase a physical copy or listen to it as an audiobook.
The Future at Pathway
We can’t believe another quarter has already come and gone, and we’re halfway through 2023. What we can believe, however, is that we couldn’t have accomplished everything we do without you. Thank you for being a part of the Pathway family. We can’t wait to share more of our successes and celebrate yours!
